American Honda Continues Record-Breaking Growth in
February
TORRANCE, Calif., March 1 American Honda posted its
best-ever February with sales up 9.4 percent to 91,043 Honda and Acura
vehicles, according to sales figures released today by American Honda Motor
Co., Inc. American Honda year-to-date sales of 177,217 are up 9.8 percent
from the same period last year.
"Honda and Acura continue to demonstrate positive sales growth, despite an
overall lukewarm economy," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of
sales for American Honda. "It all comes back to product, and consumers
continue to respond positively to our core vehicles."
Honda Division posted a record February with sales up 5.2 percent to
77,366 vehicles, led by a 23.4 percent surge in sales of the Accord.
Year-to-date Honda Division sales of 151,149 rose 6.0 percent over year ago
results.
Acura Division also posted its best ever February with sales of
13,677 vehicles, a 40.6 percent jump over last year's record. Acura
year-to-date sales of 26,068 are up 39.1 percent over last year based on
strong sales of the popular new MDX sport-utility vehicle and best-selling
3.2 TL luxury sedan.
