InterTrak Combines Automated GPS Tracking With
Live Response Center to Deliver Affordable Automotive
Security
TelEvoke Service Platform Enables InterTrak Devices to Simultaneously Alert
Users and Dispatch Operators of Emergency Events
FRISCO, Texas, Feb. 28 InterTrak Tracking Services,
L.L.C., an emergent telematics equipment and service provider, announced today
the launch of the first emergency vehicle location service without a monthly
fee. InterTrak Tracking Services has partnered with TelEvoke, Inc. and the
Aeris.net MicroBurst(R) cellular network to deliver affordable automotive
tracking and security to an expanded market of customers. InterTrak's system
will be demonstrated at the TelEvoke booth at the GPS Wireless(TM) 2001
Conference March 1st and 2nd in Burlingame CA.
The new InterTrack offering will enhance the operation of conventional
security devices by immediately notifying customers and emergency response
operators of vehicle alarm conditions. The system also allows customers to
send real-time commands to unlock their car door, start or stop the engine,
track their vehicle on the web or phone -- and more.
"Satellite based vehicle protection has finally reached a down-to-earth
price, and the InterTrak System is making a dramatic impact on the vehicle
location industry," announced Edward Muldowney, President of InterTrack. "For
the first time, consumers can get the same emergency services offered by some
auto manufacturers without a monthly fee or the need to buy a new car."
InterTrak provides value to customers by combining the low-cost
convenience of TelEvoke's automated notification, control, and tracking
service platform with the added human touch of InterTrak's live operators
during an emergency situation. "The InterTrak solution is a perfect way to
showcase the efficiency and flexibility of our anytime/anywhere service
platform. TelEvoke's new Internet Call Center Interface provides a central
web site for InterTrak operators to monitor all emergency notification events
in real time," said Rick Bentley, founder and CEO of TelEvoke.
How the InterTrak System Works
The InterTrak System uses a custom-installed InterTrak Vehicle Location
Unit (VLU) to communicate with TelEvoke's automated notification, control, and
tracking service platform. The InterTrak VLU is a compact GPS 12-channel
receiver, incorporated with a high-speed cellular radio modem and logic
control module. The VLU is compatible with virtually every vehicle make/model
and can be easily installed by most experienced alarm technicians. Technical
support for installation of the InterTrak VLU is provided by Wire Magic(TM)
software at http://www.wiremagic.com.
The InterTrak VLU is activated to send and receive data over the Aeris.net
MicroBurst(R) cellular network. InterTrak users specify a preferred method of
notification for instances of vehicle theft or other emergencies. Users may
choose to be notified via phone, email, fax, or pager. Users may also select
enhanced InterTrak vehicle communication features, such as remote door unlock,
remote engine start, or geographic boundary notification service. InterTrak
provides customers with a unique user ID and PIN for security purposes.
When a vehicle is stolen, the VLU automatically sends a theft notification
with vehicle location data over the Aeris.net MicroBurst(R) cellular network
to the TelEvoke Network Operations Center (NOC). The theft notification will
trigger an action, defined by the account information, to advise the customer
and InterTrak emergency operators of the crisis situation.
InterTrak customers may also enjoy vehicle tracking, notification, and
communication services in non-emergency situations. TelEvoke's web and phone
enabled service platform provides convenient 24-hour access to the InterTrak
system. If a family member is late or overdue with the car, the vehicle
location, direction, and speed is always accessible through the web or
phone-based system. The service can also be used to remotely start a vehicle,
monitor battery life, or find a lost car in a multi-level parking garage.
InterTrak's website, http://www.trackmenow.com, presents consumer-friendly
functions with color map, control functions, and a configuration menu for
notification features. InterTrak's toll free number, 1-866-FINDME1
(346-3631), offers an automated menu and personal assistance from live
operators.
