Cincinnati Machine Lands Major Profiler Order in China; 3-Spindle, 5-Axis Profiler to be Used for Manufacturing Boeing 737-700 Parts
CINCINNATI--Feb. 28, 2001--Cincinnati Machine announced today that it has received an order from Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Factory (SAMF), Shanghai, China, for a 3-spindle, 5-axis Gantry Type profiler to be used for manufacturing components for the Boeing 737-700.The profiler, valued at more than $3 million will be equipped with three 10,000 rpm, 100 Hp spindles to optimize the cutting of aluminum structural components that will be delivered directly to the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group (BCAG) in the U.S.
SAMF has a ten year contract with BCAG to supply 1500 sets of horizontal stabilizer parts consisting of 54 selected component parts. The Cincinnati Machine High Performance Profiler will add faster machining capabilities and improved accuracy for the finished parts that will be assembled at BCAG.
SAMF, an experienced manufacturer of aircraft components has a long history of subcontracting, and technology transfers with Boeing and McDonnell Douglas in the U.S. This current contract is another example of the cooperation in the aviation industry between the United States and China.
