Carlisle to Acquire Specialty Connector Company
SYRACUSE, N.Y.--Feb. 28, 2001--Carlisle Companies Incorporated announced today that its Tensolite Company subsidiary signed a letter of intent to acquire Connecting Devices, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of RF/microwave connectors and cable assemblies serving the wireless, internet infrastructure and opto-electronic switch markets.Connecting Devices, Inc. has 175 employees and operates from facilities in Long Beach, California.
John Berlin, President of Tensolite Company, stated "The acquisition of Connecting Devices, Inc. adds considerably to Tensolite's RF/microwave interconnect product portfolio and engineering capabilities. Connecting Devices, Inc. will enhance our package of high-end systems and strengthen Tensolite's ability to serve a number of rapidly growing communications markets."
A closing is expected in the first quarter of this year. Terms of the transactions were not announced.
Carlisle is a diversified manufacturer of products serving four major markets: construction materials, industrial components, automotive components and general industry.
