Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. and Petersen Automotive Museum Announce Collector Car Auction Event for June 15 & 16

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Feb. 27, 2001--Following on from the record-breaking sales at its January Scottsdale collector car auction, Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. Tuesday announced that it will now be conducting a collector car auction at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on June 15 and 16.
    Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. President Craig Jackson and Petersen Automotive Museum Director Dick Messer announced the auction event, which will be part of the Fourth Annual California Classic Weekend.
    The California Classic kicks off with the annual charity fundraiser "Cars & Guitars of Rock `n Roll" Gala event at the Petersen Museum on Thursday evening, June 14 and ends with the Concours on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills on Sunday, June 17.
    "We are very pleased to be able to announce this new auction venue with the Petersen Museum," said Jackson. "We have been looking for a new venue to extend our presence into the Southern California marketplace, and to have a partnership with the prestigious Petersen Museum will be an excellent opportunity to build a strong annual auction."
    The auction will be held on Friday, June 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 16 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Preview will begin at 10 a.m. each day. There will be 150 cars offered at the auction, which will also include cars at No Reserve from the collection of the Petersen Museum and the Robert E. Petersen Collection.
    With Southern California being the car culture capital of the world, Barrett-Jackson will focus its auction on the cars that made, and were made synonymous with Southern California ... Hot Rods, Woodies, Fifties convertibles and Muscle cars.
