GenesisIntermedia.com's Car Rental Direct Subsidiary Adds Retail and Rental Operations, In Talks to Acquire Additional Facilities

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 Adding a valuable retail sales
component to its already growing automobile rental business, Car Rental Direct
(CRD), subsidiary of GenesisIntermedia.com, Inc.
(Frankfurt: GIA) announced that it is on schedule to open its first retail
location on March 1, 2001. The retail facility, located in Glendale, CA, will
focus on the sale of pre-owned automobiles and retired rental units.
In addition, CRD is currently negotiating to acquire two car rental
agencies that, if purchased, will add nine additional rental locations in
Southern California and Arizona. Late last year, CRD acquired an independent
car rental agency in Los Angeles, and plans to open five new rental locations
and an additional retail sales facility in Southern California. Adding these
proposed new facilities to its existing 12 locations, CRD anticipates that it
will operate 27 locations (25 rental facilities and two retail facilities) by
the end of May 2001.
Ramy El-Batrawi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
GenesisIntermedia.com, Inc., stated, "Adding a retail segment to the already
thriving rental business of Car Rental Direct will help to boost revenues and
increase profitability dramatically, and give CRD an extra dimension of
customer service. CRD reached that milestone of 1,000 vehicles last fall, and
currently enjoys a solid and healthy 83% fleet utilization rate. We are
continuing to expect more exciting developments within the CRD subsidiary."
El-Batrawi continued, "As of now, we project that first quarter revenues
for CRD will be nearly double those of the previous quarter, irrespective of
the proposed new locations."

    About Car Rental Direct
Car Rental Direct is positioning itself to become a leader in the suburban
and replacement segments of the $18.3 billion car rental industry. The
replacement auto rental segment of the industry consists of rental for the
purpose of temporary replacement of vehicles that have been sold, stolen or
are being repaired for mechanical or accident reasons.
There are approximately 7,200 independent replacement rental car operator
locations, comprising 30% of the locations, but representing only 5% of fleet
size. Car Rental Direct believes that rolling up existing independent
companies into a singular entity will create a market position strong enough
to the become the second largest market share participant in this industry
segment.
