DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Feb. 26, 2001--Raydon Corporation, a leading developer of simulation training equipment and software, recently named Deborah Quackenbush to lead the company's growth in the commercial products area, particularly in the interactive driving simulation and training markets.
As vice president of commercial products, Ms. Quackenbush will spearhead the development and growth of Raydon's proprietary interactive driving simulation product, the Raydon Virtual Driver(tm), and its complementary multimedia package. Already part of the driver's education curriculum in two Florida counties, the Virtual Driver' from Raydon puts students behind the wheel before they hit the highway.     Raydon Virtual Driver' helps eliminate the high costs associated with traditional driver's education: automobiles, insurance, fuel and driving ranges, while making better use of classroom or laboratory time.
Ms. Quackenbush brings more than 20 years of experience in the simulation industry to her newly created position. She began her career in 1978 with Doron Precision Systems, Inc. of Binghamton, New York developing their corporate image through public relations and advertising. She later became responsible for and developed new business initiatives recommending new technologies, markets and opportunities for company growth. On the national scene Ms. Quackenbush is a familiar face in the research community and many state and federal agencies dealing with transportation and highway user's issues. She is currently an active member and secretary of the Transportation Research Board's Operator Education and Regulation Committee.
"We are committed to expanding our driving simulation and training division and are thrilled to have someone with Deborah's valuable experience and contacts in the driving simulation arena leading our team," said Don Ariel, president of Raydon. "The interactive Virtual Driver(tm) is a product with tremendous potential and with Deborah's help and expertise we hope to provide schools across the nation with a quality, cost effective driving simulation system that truly addresses the challenge of educating novice drivers."
