ArvinMeritor Light Vehicle Aftermarket
Partners with Flowmaster To Distribute Industry-Leading
Performance Exhaust Products
TROY, Mich., Feb. 23 ArvinMeritor, Inc.
announces that its Light Vehicle Aftermarket (LVA) group has formed a
strategic alliance with Flowmaster, the world leader in exhaust technology, to
distribute Flowmaster's industry-leading performance exhaust products
portfolio.
ArvinMeritor is committed to expanding its capabilities in the performance
parts arena. Flowmaster brings the leading aftermarket exhaust performance
parts brand to ArvinMeritor's existing performance exhaust offerings. Those
offerings include Cherry Bomb exhaust products, as well as an increasing line
of stainless steel mufflers and chrome and stainless steel exhaust tips.
"ArvinMeritor LVA is committed to becoming the industry leader in
performance parts. The aftermarket portion of performance exhaust products
continues to grow, increasing at a rate of 10 percent to 12 percent per year.
The partnership with Flowmaster positions ArvinMeritor LVA to capitalize on
this growing segment within the exhaust components category," said Dan Daniel,
senior vice president of ArvinMeritor and president of LVA.
Flowmaster operates the only exhaust research facility of its kind in the
world, which houses the Super Flow SF-7100 engine dynamometer. Through use of
this state-of-the-art dynamometer, Flowmaster's engineering staff can track
the complete engine cycle in millionths of a second, as well as obtain exact
readings of each degree of cam rotation, from induction to the tip of the
exhaust system.
"This alliance with ArvinMeritor is the natural progression of working
together for many years. I'm excited about the added help we now will have in
disseminating our present and future technologies into the market place.
ArvinMeritor and Flowmaster have the same objectives of customer satisfaction
and product excellence. This makes us perfect strategic partners," said Ray
Flugger, president of Flowmaster.
Through continuous product testing and development, the Flowmaster product
line has expanded rapidly over the past fifteen years from its original roots
in racing to include exhaust products for performance street, truck, RV and
motorhome applications. While all Flowmaster mufflers produce more power than
original equipment (OE) and competitive aftermarket products, they also
produce exhaust tones unique to Flowmaster. Flowmaster offers more than 400
different performance muffler models and 170 performance exhaust systems.
