TNN Pays Tribute to Racing Legend Dale Earnhardt With 'Dale Earnhardt: The People's Champion'

    NEW YORK, Feb. 22 Following the untimely death of NASCAR's
legendary driver Dale Earnhardt, TNN will present a special tribute, DALE
EARNHARDT: THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION on Monday, Feb. 26 (11:08 PM-12:08 AM, ET/PT;
repeats Friday, March 2 at 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT and Sunday, March 4 at
3:00-4:00 PM, ET/PT).  The one-hour special, hosted by long-time TNN NASCAR
announcer Eli Gold, will take a look back at the racing icon known as The
Intimidator and what he meant to his colleagues and millions of fans
worldwide.
    TNN, which carried NASCAR events from 1983-2000, will delve into its
archives to present rare footage of Earnhardt, not seen in years, including
many of Earnhardt's most celebrated moments on the track.  In addition, the
program will feature new interviews with reaction by both fans and racing
colleagues.  The one-hour tribute will be produced by Patti Wheeler, who
produced TNN's exclusive NASCAR coverage for 15 years.
    "We at TNN consider this program as our way of paying homage to this great
champion," said Brian Hughes, Senior Vice President, Sports and Outdoors, TNN.
"Dale Earnhardt was an integral part of NASCAR during TNN's 18 years of
coverage and a friend to many of us. He will surely be missed."

    TNN's special tribute includes the following features:

    -- An exclusive never-before-televised interview of Dale Earnhardt and his
       son Dale Earnhardt Jr. with TNN's Buddy Baker.  Dale Earnhardt Jr., the
       third generation of the family to race, placed second in last weekend's
       Daytona 500.

    -- Eli Gold's special trip to Earnhardt's hometown of Kannapolis, N. C. to
       discover the real essence of the man behind the intimidating dark
       glasses, villainous mustache and his unnerving will to grab the
       checkered flag.

    -- Recent interviews with family and close friends including Kenny
       Wallace, Buddy Baker and Ernie Irvan on the impact of this great
       tragedy.

    -- Highlights of Earnhardt's storied career, which includes seven NASCAR
       Winston Cup Championships and a Daytona 500 victory in 1998.

    -- A visit to Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, one of Earnhardt's most
       successful venues.
