Detroit Diesel Recognizes Top Performing Suppliers for Year 2000

DETROIT, Feb. 22 Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC)
announced today its top performing suppliers for the year 2000 as measured by
its supply chain management program, Continuous Customer Value Improvement
(CCVI). DDC evaluates major suppliers quarterly in the areas of quality,
delivery, cost, and technical support, with the goal of waste elimination
through enhanced communication and coordination throughout the supply chain.
Three suppliers hold the distinction of being named Detroit Diesel
Corporation "2000 CCVI Supplier of the Year".

-- Motorola's Automotive and Industrial Electronics Group's (AIEG)
manufacturing facility in Seguin, Texas, supplies DDC with electronic control
modules for its heavy-duty electronically controlled engines.

-- The Ferry Cap & Set Screw Company of Cleveland, Ohio, provides Detroit
Diesel with a variety of specialized, engineered fasteners.

-- Vibratech, with facilities in Alden, New York, is Detroit Diesel's
source for torsional vibration dampers.

Award presentations are scheduled at each supplier's manufacturing
facility in recognition of their outstanding performance. Key executives from
Detroit Diesel will be in attendance.

2000 marks the third year of the program, which provides supply base
coverage for approximately 84% of Detroit Diesel's product material purchases.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, CCVI is being modified in 2001 to
refine the scoring metrics with expanded emphasis on corrective action and
warranty ownership. CCVI is a major initiative of the company.
