Harley-Davidson Names Jim McCaslin President
& Chief Operating Officer Of Motor Company
MILWAUKEE, Feb. 21 James A. McCaslin, 52, has been named
President and Chief Operating Officer of Harley-Davidson Motor Company,
Jeffrey L. Bleustein, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Harley-Davidson,
Inc., announced today. McCaslin will assume the new position on March 1,
2001.
"Harley-Davidson recently celebrated its 15th year of record growth and
given our plans for the future it is time to provide additional leadership and
focus on operations," noted Bleustein. "I'm confident that Jim is the best
choice for Chief Operating Officer as we pursue continued growth." Bleustein,
61, has been Chairman and Chief Executive of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since 1997
and President and COO of the Motor Company since 1993.
McCaslin joined Harley-Davidson Motor Company in 1992 as Vice President
and General Manager, York Operations. He was appointed Vice President,
Continuous Improvement in 1997. In 1999, he became Vice President, Dealer
Services. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from
General Motors Institute and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering
from Virginia Polytech. He also attended the Advanced Management program at
Harvard University.
Bleustein also announced that John A. Hevey, 43, will become President and
Chief Operating Officer of Buell Motorcycle Company. Hevey most recently
served as Vice President and General Manager, Asia/Pacific and Latin America.
Jerry G. Wilke, 49, currently President and COO of Buell, will become Vice
President and General Manager, Asia/Pacific and Latin America.
