Avis Europe plc Strengthens Non-Executive Board With the Appointment of Malcolm Miller, CEO Pace Micro Technology plc
BRACKNELL, Berkshire--Feb. 21, 2001--Avis Europe plc, the leading car rental company in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, announces the appointment of Malcolm Miller as non-executive Director effective February 21, 2001. Malcolm is Chief Executive of Pace Micro Technology plc, a pioneer of digital technology for the home. Under his leadership, Pace has become the world's largest dedicated developer of digital set-top box technology with world-wide contracts across all broadcast platforms and significant strategic alliances with key technology developers.Malcolm joined Pace from Sega Europe Ltd where as European Chief Executive, he was responsible for the successful integration and profit turnaround of Sega's Consumer Division. After graduating in Business Studies in 1976, Malcolm began his career in consumer goods with Birds Eye. He moved to Amstrad plc in 1978, where his rapid progression led to his appointment as Sales and Marketing Director in 1989 and Managing Director in 1992.
Married with two children, Malcolm lives in Hertfordshire and enjoys playing tennis and flying.
