BorgWarner Supplies Four of Ward's '10 Best Engines
2001'
CHICAGO, Feb. 21 Four of the "10 Best Engines 2001"
selected by Ward's Auto World -- the Audi 1.8L turbo DOHC I-4 and 2.7L
Twin-Turbo DOHC V6; the Ford 5.4L Triton SOHC V-8; and the Honda 2L DOHC
I-4 -- are equipped with BorgWarner systems and components. These products
include turbochargers, air management and engine timing and cooling systems.
"These formidable engines, our evaluators believe, are benchmark
executions of engine design, innovation and manufacturing," said Bill Visnic,
Ward's Senior Technical Editor. "They excel in a business that holds their
'contribution' to the overall product in the highest regard and stand proud of
the conventional." Nominations for the award are limited to engines that are
available in a regular-production vehicle available for sale in the current
calendar or model year, and are fitted in a passenger vehicle with a total
base price of no more than $50,000.
"We're delighted that BorgWarner systems are an integral part of four
winning engines this year," said John F. Fiedler, BorgWarner Chairman and CEO.
"We are pleased to congratulate three of our valued customers -- Audi, Ford,
and Honda -- for receiving this notable recognition, and are proud of this
most recent testament to BorgWarner's product leadership."
