Autoweb.com Redesigns Competitive Comparison Tool for Lexus

Toyota/Lexus Renews Its Long-standing Relationship With Autoweb's AIC

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 21 Autoweb.com, Inc. , the leading consumer automotive Internet
service ( http://www.autoweb.com ), today announced that it has renewed its
relationship with Toyota/Lexus through the year 2002 for license of
Autoweb's Automotive Information Center's (AIC) Competitive Comparison Module
and AutoSitePro(TM). AIC refreshed the Competitive Comparison Module of the
newly redesigned lexus.com, allowing users a seamless vehicle comparison at
the website.
The renewed relationship gives Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.'s Lexus
division corporate-wide internal use of AIC AutoSitePro for both its intranet
and extranet. The Competitive Comparison Module, a configurable application
backed by AIC's leading automotive data, merges seamlessly with any Web site.
With AIC's industry-leading technology, automotive shoppers on the Lexus
consumer site can easily comparison-shop and evaluate a Lexus vehicle in
relation to key competitor vehicles or to other Lexus models. With the
technology, visitors receive a comprehensive list of attributes, as well as
technical, standard and optional equipment feature data.
Lexus advantages are indicated by a Lexus symbol and detailed text and
enlarged photos display the comparison points of each vehicle. Enlarged
photos can be viewed by the automotive shopper for either the Lexus vehicle or
the competitor. Extended text describes in detail certain features on the
vehicles, such as the CD system.
"Toyota/Lexus has been a partner with AIC since 1998, and has long
recognized the importance of Autoweb's research and technology tools," said
Jeffrey Schwartz, CEO of Autoweb.com. "We are very pleased to be extending
our relationship with Lexus and also enjoyed working with them on a successful
site redesign."
The Lexus partnership rounds out a series of significant announcements
Autoweb has recently made regarding similar deals with some of the largest
automotive manufacturers. Most recently, Autoweb has partnered with Saab to
provide this manufacturer with AIC's automotive data and research tools.
Autoweb's recent partnerships continue to reaffirm AIC's dominance as a leader
in comprehensive industry content, data and technology tools.
