The Corporate Library Helps DaimlerChrysler Services Keep Employees Up in Changing Times
DETROIT--Feb. 19, 2001--Keeping employees motivated is always a challenge, but one Michigan company has found a way to do it that is not only easy and inexpensive, but actually improves employees' skills at the same time.Working with The Corporate Library (TCL), a division of Talking Book World, DaimlerChrysler Services (DCS) has found a way to get their 4,400 employees across North America interested in learning. TCL customized a Web site for DCS around their performance appraisal areas, which allows anyone to access hundreds of audiobooks on cassette or CD to enhance their skills. "Stephen Covey, Anthony Robbins, Tom Peters - all the best known business speakers are there for the listening," reports Stuart Newman, Director of Corporate Sales. Best of all, there is no expensive travel time, seminar fees, or time off the job to contend with!
"From the company's standpoint, there is no administration or inventory to worry about," says Don McCloud, Training Manager. "TCL handles all the work. They do a great job for us, and I'm surprised by how easy the whole process has been for us." Employees not only usually do their learning in their cars coming to and from work, they are actually excited about being able to do it! "Turns windshield time into productive time" is how one happy DaimlerChrysler user put it.
TCL has been providing this service for corporate accounts for five years, and is currently servicing AAA, Lincoln Mercury, Mercedes Benz, Xerox, and the U.S. Navy, among others.
