CART Release of Fourth-Quarter 2000 Earnings Results Rescheduled

DETROIT- Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc. announced today that it has rescheduled the release of its fourth-quarter and year-end financial results from Tuesday, February 20, 2001 to Friday, February 23, 2001.

The Company is rescheduling as a result of attempts to conclude negotiations relative to the canceled race in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and to resolve issues related to its agreement with sales agent ISL Marketing AG.

CART's earnings release will be distributed following the close of the market on Friday. A conference call, featuring Joseph F. Heitzler, CART President/CEO; Thomas Carter, CFO; and Investor Relations Manager Rachelle Fergan, will take place Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The password for the call is "Championship" and the leader is Thomas Carter. Callers are asked to dial in approximately five minutes prior to the starting time.
