Cooper Industries to Participate in Salomon Smith Barney's Global Industrial Manufacturing Conference

    HOUSTON, Feb. 19 Cooper Industries, Inc. today
announced it will participate in Salomon Smith Barney's Fourteenth Annual
Global Industrial Manufacturing Conference on March 1, 2001.  The meeting will
include a presentation by H. John Riley, Jr., chairman, president and chief
executive officer, Cooper Industries.
    A webcast of the audio portion of the presentation can be accessed on the
