Oxford Consulting Group Announces Partnership With Webasto Roof Systems, Inc.

INDIANAPOLIS--Feb. 19, 2001--Oxford Consulting Group, an Indianapolis based e-business consulting firm, announced today that Webasto Roof Systems, Inc., a world leader in the manufacturing of factory installed sunroofs, has partnered with Oxford Consulting Group to successfully implement Sterling Commerce's GENTRAN: Server product for supplier facing e-business transaction processing.
Webasto, having identified supplier initiatives as a key part of their e-business strategy, looked to Oxford Consulting to assist them with this initial phase of their longer-term plan. "Because Oxford is familiar with our business systems environment we asked them to assist us in streamlining the way we do business with our suppliers. Through their relationship with Sterling Commerce, we were able to gain access to world class technology as well as the resources to help us implement it," said Brenda Istvan, IT manager for Webasto. "In the past, we have spent a great deal of time managing our cumbersome EDI transactions. With the implementation of Sterling Commerce, we have been able to streamline this process allowing us to focus on more value added activities with both customers and suppliers," Istvan added.
Oxford Consulting Group E-business Integration Manager, Trevor Richards, commented, "We are very pleased with the results of Webasto's Sterling Commerce implementation. Within a matter of weeks they were up and running with fully functional supplier side transactions, replacing their previous EDI processing system. With GENTRAN: Server, they now can easily add new suppliers and manage their day-to-day processing without a lot of help from external resources. This is definitely a big win for them."
According to Istvan, Webasto plans to roll out the GENTRAN: Server product for customer side transaction processing as well as look to extend the functionality already implemented on the supplier side in the near future. "We are very pleased with the functionality and ease of use of the GENTRAN: Server product. Later this year we are planning to implement QAD's MFG/PRO EDI ECommerce module and will of course use GENTRAN: Server as part of that solution. Additionally, as we look to further enhance our supplier collaboration and management capabilities we will continue to explore how Sterling Commerce and Oxford Consulting can assist us," Istvan concluded.
