FAIRFIELD, N.J.--U.S. F2000 Alumni Marc-Antoine Camirand
has announced he will compete in the third edition of the prestigious
Michelin Ice Challenge race in Quebec, Canada.
Camirand has signed to drive a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 with the DMO French team on the technical 1.4-kilometer Bertrand Fabi circuit. Earlier this year, DMO finished eighth in the French Masters race.
This will be the second year that he has competed against some of the world’ s best ice racers at the Michelin Ice Challenge. Camirand, who is first in top-10 and top-five finishes, third in top-three finishes and poles, and fourth in wins in U.S. F2000 history, finished third in last years U.S. F2000 National Championship after capturing three wins.
“The team and car are very strong,” said Camirand. “I think we should be able to improve on the eighth place finish the team scored in France. I want to do well here, as this track has particular significance to me. I’ve been awarded the Bertrand Fabi Trophy the past two years for my racing accomplishments.”
The Michelin Ice Challenge will run February 23-25, 2001 in Sherbrooke, Que., Can.
