~ hires automotive sales guru; sets growth curve to deliver in-vehicle solutions for multi-billion dollar industry ~
San Diego, CA - February 14, 2001 - InfoGation Corp., a leading provider of products and services connecting cars to the Internet, has boosted its upper management team and added offices to prepare for the projected jump in demand for telematics applications. As part of the development, the company has named Bill Fodera as director of US automotive sales to spearhead the establishment of its new Detroit office.
Fodera brings over 15 years of sales experience within the automotive, aftermarket and technology markets. He will oversee all sales within the US and be responsible for developing and maintaining key industry relationships. Prior to joining InfoGation, Fodera held senior sales positions within PinPoint, Network Associates, Cisco Systems and Telxon.
Investment in additional resources is needed to take full advantage of the emergence of telematics as a major industry. Analyst house UBS Warburg has predicted the telematics industry will hit $47.2 billion by 2010. InfoGation recently moved into a larger San Diego headquarters and looks to significantly expand its staff during 2001. The company also plans to offer services in Europe and Japan later this year.
"Telematics is on the verge of explosion and we are establishing the right corporate foundation for its arrival," said Ken Liu, CEO of InfoGation Corp. "The Detroit office offers us a strategic presence in the capital of the automotive world. Bill is a seasoned auto veteran who adds sales knowledge and aftermarket experience and will play a vital role in our positioning within the industry."
"There is much hype over exactly what telematics will bring," said Bill Fodera, director of automotive US sales of InfoGation Corp. "InfoGation is no doubt pioneering the way in developing solutions and services for the next generation vehicle. My position will be to continue establishing its company name and drive sales throughout OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers and auto manufacturers across North America."
