Delphi to Use Duraswitch Technology in Truck Seat Design

WARREN, Ohio, Feb. 14 Delphi Automotive Systems
announced today that the first application of its Duraswitch
switch technology will be in the development of future over-the-road truck
seats. Delphi recently entered into an agreement with truck and bus seat
manufacturer National Seating to develop switch applications for future
products.

Start of production is scheduled for fourth quarter 2001, with anticipated
annual volumes of 180,000-200,000 switches.

Delphi acquired an 18 percent equity stake in Duraswitch in June 2000, and
has since begun incorporating its patented magnetically coupled switch
technologies into future vehicle program designs.

"The benefits of the Delphi-Duraswitch partnership are truly evident in
this application," said Carl Rausch, Delphi's director of marketing, business
planning and development. "Delphi's knowledge of switches and switch
packaging combined with Duraswitch's next-generation technology will help our
customers differentiate their products in the marketplace."

Duraswitch's technology addresses a number of issues pertinent to
consumers and OEMs alike, including flat-panel, slim-profile designs; high
durability and reliability; sealability against harsh environments;
illumination capabilities, and ergonomic, user-friendly interfaces.

Delphi signed a licensing agreement with Duraswitch in April 2000, giving
it exclusive rights to utilize and manufacture Duraswitch technology for the
automotive industry. In June 2000 Delphi exercised an option to purchase a
predetermined amount of Duraswitch shares.
