Amerigon Opens New Office in Europe; Expands Worldwide Sales and Support

    IRWINDALE, Calif., Feb. 14 Amerigon Incorporated
announced today the opening of a sales and support office in
Dusseldorf, Germany, enhancing its presence in Europe.  The Company is
headquartered in Irwindale, CA and also maintains sales and technical support
centers in Detroit and Tokyo.  The Dusseldorf office will be headed by Jurgen
Brachetti, Ph.D., Amerigon Vice President, European Operations.
Dr. Brachetti, a veteran marketing and sales executive and engineer, joined
the Company in November 2000 to oversee all European business for Amerigon.
    Dr. Brachetti's career includes a number of years working with such major
automotive manufacturers as General Motors, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, BMW,
Renault, Peugot and Fiat.  Prior to joining Amerigon, he served for two years
as a technology consultant in Europe advising industry and municipal
governments on telematics and e-commerce initiatives.
    Amerigon President and CEO Richard A. Weisbart said, "Our decision to open
this office in Germany was driven by what we see as a rapidly expanding market
for our products throughout Europe.  We expect that this office, under
Jurgen's direction, will help us further establish and expand our
relationships with a number of key European automotive manufacturers."
    Amerigon is currently working with more than 20 automotive platforms
worldwide, many of which are located in Europe, to incorporate its proprietary
Climate Control Seat(TM) (CCS(TM)) system in future vehicles.  The patented
CCS system is the only such system on the market today that allows the driver
and front seat passengers to individually and actively control the warming or
cooling of their respective seats to meet climatic conditions for year-round
comfort.
