WORLD OF OUTLAWS AT LEBANON VALLEY MAY 28 TICKETS ON SALE FEBRUARY 19

FEBRUARY 12, 2001 WEST LEBANON, NY--It's a warm late spring evening and a brilliant sun is setting over the 3rd and 4th turns of the Lebanon Valley High Banks. The orange, red and purple colors of the evening sky give one a sense of serenity. From that peaceful setting, a low rumbling sound begins to assemble from within the security of the steel walls that surround the racing surface. As the rumbling grows to a low throaty roar, the wind starts to pick up and the dust begins to rise from the center of the pits. The low throaty roar slowly becomes a thundering growl from the awesome power of alcohol burning 800 horsepower beasts the are being unleashed from the pit area. The dust cloud begins to rise and swirl into the shape of a tornado as the "Winged Warriors" take to the Super Dirt Speedway and wheel their way to unbelievable speeds. This Is the EXCITEMENT of "The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars". Tickets will go on sale February 19th for the World of Outlaws annual stop at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Monday May 28th. All seats are reserved and cost just $22 each, still the lowest priced event on the entire World of Outlaw schedule. You can order your tickets by mailing a check or money order to OUTLAWS Box 9, West Lebanon, NY 12195. You can also charge tickets to your Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card by calling the speedway office at (518) 794-9606 or (518) 794-9965. The speedway office hours are Monday through Friday from 10am till 4pm. Tickets will also be available at RACEARAMA 2001 in Springfield, MA March 2, 3 & 4. You can pick up a copy of the 2001 Lebanon Valley schedule at that time. Last year Sammy Swindell blasted the track record in the time trials with a lap of 16.656 seconds. The Lebanon Valley High Banks are a favorite for the W.O.O. Speedsters; the banking and long straight-aways combined with the huge wings allow the sprinters to run almost the whole speedway without lifting their foot off the throttle. There may be a short "BURP" of the pedal just as the cars enter turns one and three but they are full throttle for the rest of the way. The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars reach speeds in excess of 160 mph on the Super Dirt Speedway. Sammy continued his evening dominance by winning last years 25 lap A-Main feature and will be looking to repeat. Mark Kinser, Jac Haudenschild and Stevie Smith will all be in the hunt for a visit to Lebanon Valley winners circle. Steve Kinser, "The King of the Outlaws" has won many championships to prove it will also be wheeling his Quaker State sprinter in search if victory. Maybe the most anticipated venture of the new WOO season will be the teaming up of NASCAR Winston Cup driver and 2001 Budweiser Shootout winner Tony Stewart with Danny "The Dude" Lasoski. "The Dude" is piloting the sprinter owned by Stewart for the 2001 season and should be a strong contender for the 2001 Outlaw championship. Tony is planning on making several appearances at World of Outlaw events in 2001 and may possibly be on hand. The big block Modifieds will also be on the card for the evenings racing. The hunt for the speedway's 49th Anniversary Championship will be underway and the 2000 champion Rich Ricci Jr. will have his hands full holding off the challenges of the rest of the talented modified drivers. Last year Chris Moore captured the modified portion of the Outlaw show. Look for lots of great racing this season from all the regular divisions at the Valley.
