Automotive Industry OEMs Get Free Admission to SAE 2001 World
Congress Exhibition; Reduced Rates to Technical Program
WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 13 Original Equipment Manufacturers
(OEM) employees who are not SAE members can get free admission to the Society
of Automotive Engineers (SAE) 2001 World Congress Exhibition, Cobo Center,
Detroit, Michigan, March 5-8.
Dave Amati, Director, Professional Meetings and Activities Group at SAE,
also announced that non-SAE members who are OEM employees can also attend the
SAE World Congress technical sessions for only $200, discounted more than
50 percent from the regular price. As always, SAE OEM members attend free.
The SAE Exhibition, held in five halls of Cobo Center, has more than
1300 exhibitors, displaying advanced technology of the automotive industry,
including telematics, 42-volt technology, fuel cells, driver distraction and
many other topics.
One of the new features of the SAE World Congress is the Automotive
Computer Technology Showcase (ACT) that gives attendees a hands-on opportunity
to experience the latest computer hardware and software available.
Applications for digital design and modeling, data storage and analysis,
inventory and plant floor control are some of the technologies that will be on
display. OEM and media personnel are invited to a special "sneak preview" on
Sunday, March 4 from 2-6 p.m. in Michigan Hall, Cobo Center.
SAE technical sessions include more than 1200 presentations on a wide
range of topics, including powertrain, safety, emissions/environmental
control, electronics, materials and more. The technical program serves as the
most significant annual global platform for automotive technology.
In addition to the technical papers, the SAE World Congress has a series
of panels and special presentations on topics of current importance to the
global automotive industry.
