Jaguar Serves an ACE With Jan-Michael

MAHWAH, N.J., Feb. 13 Jaguar Cars will support tennis
player, Jan-Michael Gambill for the 2001 tennis season. A life-long Jaguar car
-- and animal -- enthusiast, Jan-Michael will wear Jaguar sleeve patches in
all matches during 2001.
"Jan-Michael is one of the most promising tennis players in the world and
we are pleased to be supporting him next year", said Mike O'Driscoll,
President Jaguar Cars North America. "Jan-Michael shows the same passion and
intensity for Jaguar as he does for tennis; we think he is going to be a
terrific ambassador for the brand".
Jan-Michael is well known on the tennis circuit for his passion for both
cars and animals. Not only is he the proud owner of six Jaguar cars, including
an E-TYPE and a Mark II, but he also supports the animal charity Cat Tales, a
sanctuary based in Washington that looks after large cats that have been
abused or abandoned.
Jan-Michael's latest addition to his Jaguar car collection, is a 2001 XKR
limited edition 'Silverstone' coupe. Sporting a 370hp supercharged engine,
20-inch alloy wheels and Brembo racing brakes, Jan-Michael will be one of only
250 people in North America taking delivery of an XKR Silverstone.
Commenting on his new partnership with Jaguar Cars, Jan-Michael said:
"Having been such a long fan of Jaguar, it's great to now feel like part of
the family. Next year is an important year for my career; starting 2001 with
Jaguar supporting me is a terrific personal and professional boost."
Jan-Michael Gambill, 23, is one of the most highly rated US players to
enter professional tennis in the last five years. In 2000, Gambill was the
fourth highest ranked American on tour, and currently ranks #33 in the world.
Jan-Michael was also named a playing member of the US Davis Cup team in 2000
and 2001. Jan-Michael entered professional tennis in 1996 and has since won in
both doubles and singles at tennis tournaments around the world. Jan-Michael
is managed by the SFX Sports Group and lives in Colbert, Washington.
