Redmond Capital Corp. - Redcell Batteries and NASCAR Join In Promotional Partnership
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--Feb. 12, 2001-- Officials for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and RedCell Batteries (RedCell) have announced a multi-year promotional marketing agreement. In an effort to complement its industry involvement with NASCAR teams, RedCell has established an exclusive marketing partnership at the league level. This partnership gives RedCell exclusive promotional opportunities with NASCAR, including use of the league mark in advertising and promotions. RedCell first ventured into NASCAR-themed promotions with the introduction of the "NASCAR Bonus Pack Racing Series" of collectible die-cast cars, on their 8AA battery packs.
2001 marks a breakout year for NASCAR as the league, which boasts television ratings second only to the NFL, joins new television partners FOX, NBC, and Turner. Between FOX and NBC, the sport will now showcase 28 of its 38 races on network television, up from only 10 in years past. This solidifies that each additional race broadcast on over-the-air network vs. cable television will reach 30 million additional homes than in years past. This fact, along with NASCAR expansion into two new markets - Chicago and Kansas City - as well as the return of Daimler/Chrysler and its Dodge brand to NASCAR competition following a 25-year absence, has NASCAR officials confident the sport is poised to continue to grow, and attract new fans.
"We are delighted to be working with RedCell on a marketing platform that can help them reach a whole new audience," said Brett Yormark, NASCAR vice president of corporate marketing. "RedCell has been an active sponsor within our sport at the team level for some time and now the company will integrate its program with additional elements starting in 2001. This coincides with a very exciting time in NASCAR history."
RedCell Batteries is the national brand of RedCell Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Redmond Capital Corporation based in Vancouver, British Columbia. RedCell offers a full line of non-automotive batteries, including alkaline, cordless phone, hearing aid, photo, watch, and coin cell batteries.
