Through The Visteon Fund, the company's Energy Transformation operations
has donated funds to Rawsonville Elementary School to support its Accelerated
Reader Technology based Literacy Program. This program enables students to
set reading goals and monitors each student's progress with a computer-
generated test that evaluates his or her reading comprehension. Students can
accumulate points as they reach certain reading goals, which can be used in
exchange for rewards.
"We selected Rawsonville Elementary School as one of our beneficiaries
because we believe every child should have the opportunity to excel in school,
especially in reading," said Jim Firlit of Visteon's Energy Transformation
operations. "Our team of employees is dedicated to giving back to the
community in which we live and work."
A team of employees led the project from Visteon's Energy Transformation
operations including: Phyllis Johnson, Janet O'Brien, Doug Bottomley, Mike
Tschirhart, Marco Toppi, Bill Abraham, and Carol Davis. The team has also
donated some of its allocated funding to the Interfaith Hospitality Network of
Washtenaw County Alpha House, a temporary shelter for homeless and at-risk
families.
Visteon understands the importance of supporting the communities in which
its employees live and work. The Visteon Fund was established in 1999 to

community based organizations that recognize and meet the needs of their
