American Standard to Confirm Growth Estimates, Discuss Strategies in Meeting With Analysts

    PISCATAWAY, N.J., Feb. 12 At an analyst meeting to be held
today in New York, American Standard Companies Inc. will reconfirm
financial estimates for the year 2001 and discuss its growth targets and
strategies for the period through 2004.
    American Standard Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Fred Poses and
leaders from the company's three business segments, Air Conditioning Systems
and Services, Vehicle Control Systems and Plumbing Products, also will discuss
the impact of the company's materials management and Six Sigma initiatives,
marketing programs and other key growth strategies.  The company will
reconfirm its 2001 targets of 5-6 percent sales growth, a 0.5 percentage point
increase in margin and a 13-17 percent increase in earnings per share.  In
addition, the company will cover the growth and productivity programs that it
expects will enable performance to continue in these ranges through 2004.
