Kenworth To Sponsor Alabama Concert at Mid-America Trucking Show on March 23

KIRKLAND, Wash., February 8, 2001 - Alabama, one of country music's leading bands, will perform at the 2001 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, courtesy of Kenworth Truck Company.

Kenworth is sponsoring the popular group's performance at Mid-America for the 13th year as a way to thank truckers and the trucking community for their support. The concert is set for Friday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Freedom Hall, adjacent to the truck show.

Alabama has 42 number one hits, over 60 million records sold worldwide, and numerous industry awards. Alabama's latest album, "When It All Goes South," was released by RCA in January. The group has a website at www.thealabamaband.com.

Complimentary Alabama concert tickets are available to CDL holders only (limit of two tickets per person). Ticket distribution, while supplies last, will take place in the show lobby's South Wing on both Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23 starting when the doors open. The doors open to the public at 1 p.m. on March 22 and at 10 a.m. on March 23.

Opening the show for Alabama will be country singer Tracy Byrd. His most recent album, "It's About Time", was released by RCA. Byrd has had two No. 1 hits - "Holdin' Heaven" and "Keeper of the Stars".
