The Atlantic City Classic Car Show Rolls Into
the Convention Center Friday, Feb. 9th, Through Sunday,
Feb. 11th
See 750 Classic Cars and Meet Legendary Automotive Designer George Barris
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Feb. 7 G. Potter King the producer of
the Atlantic City Classic Car Event is proud to announce that world famous
motion picture and television automobile designer George Barris will be
honored this year for special achievements in the automotive design world.
Mr. Barris "the King of the Kustomizers" will premier his 2050 Cougar Woody.
Mr. Barris is a pop culture icon whose custom designs for television and
film include the Batmobile, the Monkeymobile, the Munstermobile, the Green
Hornet, Kitt from Knightrider, the Ghostbusters Ambulance, the
Flintstonemobile to name just a few. He has also designed cars for Bob Hope,
James Dean, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
John Chiara, the producer of the show said, "This year's show will feature
more classic cars than ever before. We're also thrilled to have legendary
motion picture and television automobile designer George Barris. We are also
going to include Mr. Barris' most recent design, 2050 Cougar Woody in our
auction."
Since 1973 the Atlantic City Classic Car Event has been putting buyers and
sellers of classic cars together. Cars that will be auctioned range from a
1965 Mustang for an estimated $15,000 on up to a 1933 Packard Victoria
Convertible (only 5 exist) that is estimated to sell for $250,000. The
auction is managed by Kruse International, the largest automobile auction
house in the world . Friday's auction will feature muscle cars, hot rods &
convertibles; Saturday will feature exotic cars & collectibles; and Sunday
will feature cars 25 years and older. In addition to the live auction, this
world class event features the Car Salon for automobiles over $50,000, the Car
Canopy (cars from the '50s & '60s), the Car Expo (cars over $25,000) and Hot
Rod Alley which features muscle cars and hot rods. In addition, automobile
enthusiasts can stroll an auto-oriented flea market of over 750 booths
produced by Carlisle Productions.
The show will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Hours of
the show are as follows: 9am-9pm Fri./Saturday, Sunday 9am-7pm. Adult
admission is $14/day and admission for children under twelve is $3/day.
