Edward Moreland, Robert Rasor to be Guest Instructors
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Edward Moreland, vice president of government relations for the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), will serve as a guest instructor at the Association's March 17-18 EAGLES Leadership Academy in Boston, the AMA announced.
Moreland, based in Washington, D.C., will share the teaching duties with Terry Lee Cook, who works as a state programs developer in the Government Relation's Department at AMA headquarters in Pickerington, Ohio.
As part of the intensive training that EAGLES attendees get, Moreland will explain the threats facing both street and off-highway motorcyclists today, the important role motorcyclists play in shaping laws at the state and federal levels, and the special programs that motorcyclists can get involved in to help protect their right to ride.
AMA President Robert Rasor will serve as a guest instructor at the AMA's EAGLES Leadership Academy scheduled for May 5-6 in Kansas City, Mo.
AMA EAGLES leadership academies are held nationwide to help dedicated motorcyclists develop public relations, grassroots organizing and other valuable skills. Many EAGLES academy graduates have gone on to become important volunteer leaders within the AMA.
EAGLES is an acronym that stands for Education, Activism, Growth, Leadership, Expertise and Skills. In addition to gaining valuable information, academy participants will have the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other dedicated motorcyclists.
Besides being held in Boston and Kansas City, EAGLES leadership academies will be held in Ohio July 16-17 and in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Sept. 18-19. Special one-day alumni academies will be held at Sears Point in California on April 27, and in Ohio on July 20.
Classes are designed for 30 to 40 participants. A $50 tuition fee includes lunch on the first day, an evening social hour, continental breakfast on both days, and all workshop materials. You must be an AMA member to attend.
