Eagle-Picher Announces Retirement of President and CEO

    CINCINNATI, Feb. 6 Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc. announced
that Andries Ruijssenaars, President and Chief Executive Office, has decided
to retire effective July 1, 2001.  Mr. Ruijssenaars will remain on the Board
of Directors of Eagle-Picher and its parent company, Eagle-Picher Holdings,
Inc.  The Company is undertaking a search for Mr. Ruijssenaars' successor.
    "We're grateful for Andries' many years of service to Eagle-Picher,
particularly his leadership following our acquisition of Eagle-Picher," said
Joel P. Wyler, Chairman of Eagle-Picher and Granaria Holdings, B.V., the
majority owner of Eagle-Picher.  "We are glad that we will continue to have
his input through the Board of Directors and we wish him well with his other
activities," added Mr. Wyler.
    "I'm proud to leave Eagle-Picher positioned for growth following its
recent restructuring and I'm confident the Company is on solid footing for the
future," said Mr. Ruijssenaars.
    Eagle-Picher, founded in 1843, is a diversified manufacturer of industrial
products for the automotive, defense, aerospace, construction and other
industrial markets worldwide.  The Company operates more than 40 plants and
has 5,300 employees in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom,
Germany and Japan.
