Sears Point Raceway Announces New Hire
LATEST ADDITION TO SALES TEAM WILL TARGET HIGH-TECH INDUSTRY
SONOMA, Calif. (February 7, 2001) - Tomas O. Garley has been named Manager, Sponsorship Sales and Services, at Sears Point Raceway, it was announced by raceway officials.
Garley, 31, comes to Sears Point Raceway from Silicon Valley-based Novellus Systems Inc., where he served as Director of Global Field Operations. Novellus is a high-tech manufacturer of advanced systems for the deposition of thin films on semiconductor wafers. Garley worked at Novellus for more than seven years.
Garley enters Sears Point Raceway at an exciting time as the facility continues construction on a $35 million modernization project. Some of the plans include a technology display and demonstration venue, a children's pavilion, a young adult active lifestyle area and an outdoorsman demonstration area.
"We are very excited to find such a terrific fit in Tomas. His expertise, combined with his passion for motorsports, is a winning combination for our sponsors and for Sears Point Raceway," said Tim Schuldt, Vice President of Sales/Marketing at Sears Point.
Garley will manage the high-tech, telecom and electronics industries for Sears Point Raceway, among his many other accounts.
"I am hoping my experience in the high-tech sector will enable me to tap into that growing industry and expose it to the biggest spectator sport in the country," Garley said. "I'm coming to Sears Point Raceway at a great time and I'm excited at the possibilities."
Garley, who resides in the South Bay, has worked at Sears Point Raceway on a part-time basis for many years during the main-event season, which extends annually from April-August.
