SEMA Announces General Motors as Featured OEM Of 2001 SEMA Show - October 30 - November 2

DIAMOND BAR, Calif., Feb. 5 General Motors Corporationwill join the
ever-growing number of original equipment manufacturers at this year's Specialty
Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show as the featured OEM for 2001. GM will
use the event, scheduled for October 30 - November 2 at the Las Vegas Convention
Center, to showcase many of its latest creations and concepts.

"General Motors is once again extremely pleased to be the Vehicle
Manufacturer of the Show at SEMA this year. As a manufacturer, we see the
national importance and continued growth of the show as a key factor in our
participation," says John Middlebrook, General Motors' vice president and
general manager of brand marketing and corporate advertising. "We plan to
sharpen the focus of several of our vehicle brands at this year's show and
leverage the innovative spirit of SEMA's members to build and display some
outstanding project vehicles."

In addition to General Motors, other OEM exhibitors participating include
DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Panoz,
Saturn and TRD (Toyota). These manufacturers exhibit concept and project
vehicles and many use the venue to debut new production models.

"We can expect a dynamic General Motors presence this year," says Charles
R. Blum, SEMA's president. "More and more major manufacturers are impressed
with the energy and enthusiasm the show generates, and understand that this is
where emerging trends are established."

The increased OEM presence at the annual show has grown steadily in size
as well as in number. The show itself has expanded to meet the demand and now
encompasses more than 1.2 million square feet in the Las Vegas Convention
Center. With more than 6,200 booths and more than 82,000 visitors, including
nearly 500 national and international media, the SEMA Show has become one of
the top three trade shows in Las Vegas.

Last year four new Ford Focus concept vehicles were unveiled while
DaimlerChrysler displayed dozens of customized PT Cruisers. Ford also used
the event to unveil the 2001 Ford SVT Lightning and GM followed suit with the
premier of its 2002 Saturn SUV.

Influenced by the industry "powerbrokers" that attend the event each year,
the SEMA Show is the birthplace of many of the market's hottest trends. The
SEMA Show has become a vital proving ground for OEMs, as evidenced by the
increase in OEM presence from just three manufacturers to 11 during the past
four years. The show has also become a launch pad for innovative products
developed by the automotive accessory industry. Many of these products become
standard equipment on new vehicles, establishing the SEMA Show as a veritable
research and development facility for the OEMs in recent years.

SEMA represents the $24.23 billion specialty automotive industry. The
trade association is composed of more than 4,400 member companies nationwide
and is the authoritative source of research data, trends and market growth
information for automakers and the specialty auto products industry. The
industry provides appearance, performance, safety, comfort, convenience and
technology products for passenger cars, minivans, pickups, SUVs and
recreational vehicles. It's a specialty market as old as the automobile and
as new as today's cutting-edge technology. For more information, please
