Statement by Marylaurel E. Wilks Vice
President, Communications, Speedway Motorsports Inc. On
Announcement of Federal Trade Commission Investigation into
ZMAX(TM)
CONCORD, N.C., Feb. 1 -- Marylaurel E. Wilks, Vice President
of Communications for Speedway Motorsports Inc. , today issued the
following statement:
"Today's action by the FTC is without merit. Speedway Motorsports stands
behind the ZMAX(TM) product 100 percent.
"ZMAX(TM) has been improving engine performance for over 50 years. We are
confident that we will prove that the benefits of ZMAX(TM) are significant -
increased horsepower, decreased fuel consumption, lower operating
temperatures, less wear, improved compression and reduced corrosion and
rusting.
"First developed by Joe Lencki, the basic formula for ZMAX(TM) is used in
a similar product marketed under the trade name AvBlend(R) and is the first
product of its type approved by the Federal Aviation Administration for use in
aircraft. That's why experts from A.J. Foyt, Racing Hall of Fame Legend and
Dick Rutan, Global Aviator, trust ZMAX(TM) for their vehicles.
"We are confident that once this process is over, the court will find what
thousands of car owners and drivers already believe - ZMAX(TM) works when it
comes to engine performance."
