    RESTON, Va.--Jan. 31, 2001--TRW Inc. has named T. Wood Parker as vice president and general manager of its global information technology business. Parker joins TRW from PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P., where he was managing partner of the Washington consulting practice.
    In his new role, Parker is responsible for TRW's civil federal government, state and local government, and commercial programs and services. He is based in Reston at TRW Systems & Information Technology Group, a $3 billion provider of systems, services and information technology to government and industry.
    Among the numerous programs Parker will oversee are TRW's work, as prime contractor, on EDGAR, the Security and Exchange Commission's Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval System; the agency-wide communications system for the Treasury Department; and the Center for Disease Control's research software systems.
    Parker has served as a commissioner on the President's Commission on White House Fellowships; president of the White House Fellows Association; a member of the Planning Forum; a principal on the Council for Excellence in Government; and on the board of directors for the Northern Virginia Habitat for Humanity.
    Parker earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and a master's in international relations from Miami University (Ohio).
