Carfax Certified Cars Matching Buyers to Sellers; 400,000 Vehicles Added to Free Service Since Launch

    FAIRFAX, Va.--Jan. 31, 2001--Carfax Certified Cars, recently launched by Carfax to help consumers locate cars with guaranteed clean title histories while providing car dealers an additional medium for advertising vehicles on the Internet, has already received a tremendous response. In the four months since its introduction, dealers around the country have loaded nearly 400,000 vehicles into the Carfax Certified Cars inventory.
    Carfax Certified Dealers can add vehicles at no charge to the Carfax Certified Car inventory. Consumers can locate Carfax certified cars and trucks locally and access their Carfax vehicle history report at no cost. Every car listed in the Carfax Certified Car database includes the $5,000 Carfax Clean Title History Guarantee.

    Thousands of Carfax Certified Dealers are already taking advantage of this new free listing service. "The customer was very excited about the Carfax website and the vehicle history report," said Mike Bosco, Carfax subscriber and vice president of Key Auto Inc., in Clifton Springs, New York, when he called to tell Carfax about a customer who used Carfax Certified Cars. "They felt so comfortable using Carfax, they bought the car--I am a Carfax believer."
