Atlantic City Classic Car Event to Feature World Class Automobile Designer George Barris and Over 750 Classic Cars Under One Roof

    ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Jan. 31 G. Potter King the producer
of the Atlantic City Classic Car Event is proud to announce that world famous
motion picture and television automobile designer George Barris will be
honored this year for special achievements in the automotive design world.
Mr. Barris "the King of the Kustomizers" will premier his 2050 Cougar Woody.
    Mr. Barris is a pop culture icon whose custom designs for television and
film include the Batmobile, the Monkeymobile, the Munstermobile, the Green
Hornet, Kitt from Knightrider, the Ghostbusters Ambulance, the
Flintstonemobile to name just a few.  He has also designed cars for Bob
Hope, James Dean, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
    John Chiara, the producer of the show said, "This year's show will feature
more classic cars than ever before.  We're also thrilled to have legendary
motion picture and television automobile designer George Barris.  We are also
going to include Mr. Barris' most recent design, 2050 Cougar Woody in our
auction."
    Since 1973 the Atlantic City Classic Car Event has been putting buyers and
sellers of classic cars together.  The auction is managed by Kruse
International, the largest automobile auction house in the world.
Friday's auction will feature muscle cars, hot rods & convertibles; Saturday
will feature exotic cars & collectibles; and Sunday will feature cars 25 years
and older.  In addition to the live auction, this world class event features
the Car Salon for automobiles over $50,000, the Car Canopy (cars from the '50s
& '60s), the Car Expo (cars over $25,000) and Hot Rod Alley which features
muscle cars and hot rods.  In addition, automobile enthusiasts can stroll an
auto- oriented flea market of over 750 booths produced by Carlisle
Productions.
    Some of the classic cars up for auction this year can be found on the
enclosed sheets with descriptions.  Hours of the show are as follows:
9am-9pm Fri./Saturday, Sunday 9am-7pm.  Adult admission is $14/day and
admission for children under twelve is $3/day.

    George Barris has been involved in making Hollywood film and TV cars since
the early 1950's.   In the 1960's, Barris was already the ultimate Movie
Star customizer.  The biggest stars in Hollywood lined up at the studio in
North Hollywood to have George create and customize their cars.  John
Wayne, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Beach Boys,
Sonny & Cher, Steve McQueen, The Monkees, Sean Connery, The Beverly
Hillbillies, Jerry Lewis, and so many more.
    The 1960's were also the Barris years for dominating TV shows with his
cars.  Some of Barris' creations for motion pictures and TV include vehicles
from "The Munsters," "The Green Hornet," "My Mother the Car," "Mannix," The
Flintstonemobile, the Miami Vice Speedboats, the Dukes of Hazzard Plymouth,
The Beverly Hillbillies wagon, Burt Reynolds' Smokey and the Bandit car, The
Ghostbuster Ambulance, The Knight Rider Talking Car and the most famous TV
Hollywood car in all the world, the 1960's Batmobile.
    For the last 25 years, Barris has been at the forefront of the FILM and TV
Auto creation business.  In 1997, George was honored with his own museum,
The Barris Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Barris has also written
the first of many coffee table art books -- Barris TV & Movie Cars (Motorbooks
International) sharing all of his stories of the most famous cars in history,
and their owners.  It's now a best seller.
