iXL and Budget Celebrate Number One Ranking for Budget.com; Budget Rent a Car Tops the Gomez Winter 2000 Internet Car Rental Scorecard

ATLANTA, Jan. 31 iXL announced today that
Budget.com, the renter-friendly Web site of Budget Rent a Car Corporation,
achieved the number one position in the Gomez Winter 2000 Internet Car Rental
Scorecard. As its long-term, strategic partner, iXL worked closely with
Budget to design, develop and implement the award-winning site.
Gomez, the Internet quality measurement firm, ranked Budget's Web site
best overall, first in the Ease of Use category, and first for the Road
Warrior and Bargain Hunter customer profile categories. iXL and Budget
relaunched Budget.com last October as a customer-centric site offering
personalization, faster bookings, ease of use, and value programs for Budget's
loyal customer base. Other updates to the site's key functionalities such as
the turbo-charged booking engine contributed to the overall success of the
relaunch.
"We are proud of the recognition Budget.com is receiving, and more
importantly the value it provides to our customers," said Mike Gavelek, vice
president, marketing, for Budget Rent a Car. "iXL's travel industry expertise
and experience in leading global companies have played an important role in
the success of our online presence."
"Teamwork and a long-standing commitment to client delivery have enabled
iXL and Budget to produce winning solutions such as Budget.com," said Bruce
Speechley, leader of iXL's Travel & Transportation group. "Together we
achieved our goal of creating one of the fastest, customer-centric sites
available in the online car rental industry."
Gomez cited the redesigned Budget.com homepage and its streamlined
reservation process as key components of the positive review. By virtue of
its number one position in the Scorecard, Budget was also named a Gomez
WebStar -- an honor bestowed on companies that are ranked at the top of their
industries by Gomez analysts.
Budget also climbed to the top of the Top9.com car rental industry ranking
for the month of December. With approximately 563,000 unique visitors to the
site, Budget's numbers exceeded those of other sites such as Hertz.com and
Avis.com.
