ZAP Unveils 'Turbo-Charged' ZAPPY Electric Scooter

    LONG BEACH, Calif., Jan. 31 Extreme sports retailers will
catch a glimpse of a new 'turbo-charged' electric scooter as well as five
other new electric vehicles from electric transportation pioneer
ZAPWORLD.COM at the 2001 Action Sports Retailer (ASR) Expo,
February 3-5 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
    The new ZAPPY-XT from ZAPWORLD.COM (ZAP) is an improved version of its
ZAPPY folding electric scooter.  Introduced in 1997, ZAPPY helped pioneer the
U.S. market for stand-on electric scooters. With sales nearly doubling in
2000, ZAP hopes to further capitalize on the scooter market by releasing three
different ZAPPY scooters in 2001:  ZAPPY JR. for kids ages six to ten; ZAPPY,
with a new low price for mass retail markets; and ZAPPY-XT, a new, improved
version developed to meet the growing demand for high-performance electric
scooters.  ZAPPY-XT's new electric propulsion system offers improved
acceleration and hill climbingand has a hi-performance mode that allows the
scooter to reach speeds of 19.5 MPH.  In some localities this mode may only be

    ZAP is unveiling three other new products to extreme sports retailers at
the 2001 ASR Trade Expo. The new SWIMMY(TM) "water scooter" provides a
swim-assist in open water or swimming pools and is a finalist for NASDAQ
Sports Product of the Year. ZAP is also unveiling its 2001 POWERBIKE(R)
electric bicycle with a new low price.  ZAP is also announcing plans to enter
production on its unique POWERSKI(R), an electric tow device for skaters and
skateboarders.
