Viasystems Group, Inc. Updates Guidance
ST. LOUIS--Jan. 30, 2001--Viasystems Group, Inc. today provided guidance on the company's financial performance for the first quarter of 2001.The Company stated that it anticipates revenue for the quarter to total approximately $425 million with earnings, after adjustments for amortization ("EBG"), of between $0.07 and $0.10 per share. Results for the first quarter will reflect weaker demand for printed circuit boards (PCB) from certain of the company's core North American telecommunications equipment customers, primarily as a result of the these customers own inventory adjustments. As a result, Viasystems will take immediate steps to reduce the cost structure of its North American PCB fabrication facilities. These steps will likely result in a one-time restructuring charge of between $10 million and $20 million being recorded in the first quarter. The restructuring charge would consist of both cash and non-cash components.
