Wireless POS Pumps Primed
SAN JOSE, Calif.--Ten Square’s point-of-sale (POS) technology will integrate with Sensoria Corp.’s AutoWINS remote diagnostic automotive applications, thus enabling vehicles to be wirelessly connected to gas stations and convenience stores.
“Simultaneously, the AutoWINS system can run diagnostics to determine the need for maintenance, such as an oil change. Our combined technologies will enable the pump to recognize that need, notify the driver, offer to schedule an appointment along with a coupon for an oil change, then confirm the appointment, thereby matching the consumer’s need to a local promotion,” said Dave Gelvin, Sensoria’s chief executive officer.
By partnering with Sensoria, Ten Square expects to deliver personalized digital content, such as advertising and car care applications, to consumers within their vehicles. AutoWINS’ 11-megabit connection speed enables it to host mobile commerce applications, complete transactions, offer navigational aid, obtain personalized interactive content and transfer critical vehicle data based on the driver’s needs. Through the Ten Square Digital Network--broadcast via fuel dispensers and the in-vehicle interface--consumers will be able to access relevant automotive information and promotions from local and national brand online and offline retailers during their transaction time.
