KPMG Consulting's Managing Director Joins Traffic.com; Will Manage New Fleet & Logistics Line of Business
WAYNE, Pa.--Jan. 29, 2001--Traffic.com, the leading provider of digital traffic and logistics information, announced today the appointment of Carl J. Schroeder as Senior Vice President of the Fleet & Logistics Group.Mr. Schroeder, who most recently was Managing Director of KPMG Consulting Inc., brings 25 years of general management and consulting experience in engineering, logistics, manufacturing, sales, marketing and procurement to his new assignment. He will be responsible for building and managing the Fleet & Logistics line of business at Traffic.com. His primary focus will be to provide transportation planning and execution solutions for enterprises engaged in shipping goods, logistics operations, managing mobile sales forces or service fleets where traffic management has a critical impact on the bottom line. Traffic.com solutions include dispatch applications, routing optimization, planning tools, and IVU/GPS device integration.

At KPMG Consulting, Mr. Schroeder was responsible for developing advanced solutions and implementing new technologies in support of business-to-business integration. He and his team developed highly efficient, integrated supply networks in collaboration with retailers, distributors, manufacturers and suppliers utilizing solutions in e-transportation, e-purchasing, trading partner integration, collaborative planning and advanced planning software.
Prior to KPMG Consulting, Mr. Schroeder held general management and corporate officer positions in transportation services, automotive products, consumer goods, and life sciences manufacturers such as Johnson & Johnson and Quaker State Corporation. He earned a BS in Management Science from Oklahoma State University.
