General Motors Honors Shiloh Industries With
Certificate of Recognition
CLEVELAND, Jan. 29 Shiloh Industries, Inc.
has been singled out by General Motors to receive special recognition for
quality and customer service. Among the many vendors who supply General
Motors' Pontiac East Assembly Plant, only Shiloh has been awarded the plant's
Certificate of Recognition for the year 2000.
Shiloh, a leading manufacturer of engineered products, including blanks,
engineer-welded blanks, stamped components, and value-added assemblies for the
automotive industry, earned the certificate for meeting various quality and
delivery criteria. The award was presented to Shiloh President and CEO John
F. Falcon by Pontiac East's Plant Manager Richard Monkaba on January 8.
In the certificate, GM Truck and Bus Group notes that "Your focus on
Quality and Customer enthusiasm is to be commended and your entire
organization congratulated." It specifically recognizes Shiloh for:
* QS-9000 Compliance
* No spills, stock-outs or downtime
* Less than 25 PPM (parts per million)
* 100 percent on-time PPAP submittals
* 100 percent on-time delivery
* Zero PRRs (parts resolutions)
"This award reflects our ongoing commitment to upgrade our operations and
products to better serve our customers," Falcon said. "Shiloh has made major
investments to become a full-service partner with our customers.
"This means providing design expertise, innovative engineering,
prototyping and testing, and the most advanced capabilities. We are dedicated
to exceeding our customers' needs and expectations both now and into the
future."
The certificate was presented to Shiloh for three parts that the company
provides to the Pontiac East Assembly Plant. They are a support assembly
torsion bar, which is a welded assembly, plus left- and right-hand seat
reinforcement stampings. Shiloh was awarded the business for these parts in
1996. Last year's deliveries to Pontiac East included 250,000 seat
reinforcements and 125,000 torsion bars. Shiloh also began shipping a new
support assembly torsion bar in October 2000 in annual quantities of 133,000.
