Senior Executives at Johnson Controls
Appointed to New Leadership Posts
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Jan. 26 Automotive interior supplier
Johnson Controls has appointed two top executives to new
positions, effective immediately.
* Jerry Beaubien has been named vice president and senior executive in
charge of the Johnson Controls Leadership Institute. In this role, he leads
the company's ongoing leadership development initiatives worldwide, and
oversees technical and performance-improvement training that is available for
all employees.
* Mike Lamach has been named group vice president and general manager,
customer business units. He directs three Johnson Controls customer business
units that serve General Motors worldwide and Toyota worldwide, as well as
Nissan in North America. Lamach also co-directs the leadership teams for sales
and marketing.
The changes support efforts at the company's Automotive Systems Group to
implement world-class, customer-focused business units and to leverage new
business opportunities. Johnson Controls is a leading, global supplier of
automotive interior systems.
Beaubien joined Johnson Controls in 1981, and brings to his new post a
wealth of operational, manufacturing, customer management and international
experience. Most recently, he was Johnson Controls' vice president and general
manager for South America. Beaubien also previously served as vice president
and general manager of the company's General Motors Business Unit; and as vice
president and general manager of manufacturing.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business management and a master's degree
in business administration from the University of South Dakota.
Lamach joined Johnson Controls in 1985, and has served in various sales,
sales management, and general management positions. For the past four years,
he was vice president and general manager for commercial business in North
America for the company's Integrated Facility Management (IFM) business.
A native of Michigan, Lamach earned a master's degree in finance from
Saginaw Valley State University, and a bachelor of science degree in
mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.

The Plymouth, Michigan (U.S.A.)-based automotive business of Johnson
Controls -- which employs more than 77,000 people at 285 facilities worldwide
-- achieved US$12.7 billion in sales for the 2000 fiscal year. In model-year
2001, it will supply interior products for more than 23 million vehicles.
