SPX's Dielectric Business to Acquire TCI
International, Inc.
MUSKEGON, Mich., Jan. 26 SPX Corporation today
announced that its Dielectric business has signed a definitive agreement to
purchase TCI International, Inc. . The transaction is subject
to approval by TCI shareholders.
John B. Blystone, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of SPX
Corporation said, "We are focused on growth through internally developed
technology as well as by strategic acquisitions like TCI. The addition of
signal processing products, systems and services will expand our product and
service offerings. With 70% of their sales generated outside the U.S., TCI
will offer an opportunity for Dielectric to expand its global presence."
The acquisition of TCI further broadens Dielectric's varied product
offerings to U.S. broadcasters for TV and FM products and international
broadcasters in the High Frequency and Medium Frequency spectrum. The
addition of TCI also brings Dielectric into the field of signal processing,
which includes spectrum monitoring and management, direction finding, signal
collection and specialized products for military and communications
intelligence customers.
TCI is a developer of broad-bandwidth products, systems and applications
for broadcasting, spectrum management, communication intelligence collection,
and specialty radio communications. Based in Fremont, California, TCI has
annual revenues of approximately $30 million.
Dielectric Communications, based in Raymond, Maine, is the nation's
largest manufacturer of high power digital and analog TV and FM broadcast
antennas, transmission line and RF systems, and a world leader in broadcast
