• Tubular Steel Inc., St. Louis, Mo., a steel tubing supplier to Federal-Mogul bearing plants.
Forty-three suppliers received Delivery Excellence awards for 100 percent on-time delivery, and 59 suppliers received Zero Defect awards for producing defect-free products.
“The Supplier Awards presentation is a great time to communicate and celebrate with our key suppliers the objectives of our company and reward those supplier partners that have performed tremendously well,” said Tony Tomczak, director of supply chain management for North America. “The meeting is the cornerstone for our supplier relations.”
Dow Corning, Midland, Mich., received the Tangible Value Added Proactive Supplier award for implementing the highest percentage of acceptable cost-reduction proposals during 2000.
“Purchased materials and services represent greater than 60 percent of the total operating costs of Federal-Mogul,” said Nicholas Pishotti, vice president of global supply chain management. “Having complete and thorough two- way communications with the leaders of our supply base is essential to managing these costs.”
