Carfax Puts the Drive in Blood Drive
COLUMBIA, Mo.--Jan. 25, 2001--Carfax, Inc. (www.carfax.com), the Internet's leading provider of vehicle history reports, and the American Red Cross are inviting eligible donors in the Columbia area to save a life this Friday...by participating in a blood drive taking place at Carfax.To show their appreciation for supporting this blood donation campaign, Carfax is offering all donors gift certificates redeemable for free Carfax reports.
Eligible participants are asked to visit Carfax, located at 409 Vandiver Drive in Columbia, this Friday, January 26th, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. A Red Cross Donor Coach will be stationed in the south parking lot with trained medical workers receiving donors. Carfax will provide juice and snacks.
Approximately every two seconds in the United States someone needs blood. Donated blood is used to help patients with cancer, leukemia, sickle cell disease or to help save the lives of victims of accidents or trauma.
Donating blood is a safe process. Eligible donors must be over 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more and have not donated blood within the past 55 days. Donors should eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of (non-caffeine) fluids at least 4 hours prior to donating and have juice or a snack following donation.
