Meeting Planners Can Now Make Car Rental Arrangements Online Through A New Avis Web Site, www.Avis.com/Meetings

      New Site Believed to Be Industry's First to Offer Meeting Planners
        Their Own Customized Web Page with Links to Reservation System

    GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Jan. 25 Avis Rent A Car, Inc. announced
today that it has launched a new Web site, http://www.avis.com/meetings,
designed just for meeting planners that is believed to be the industry's first
to give them access to their own customized Web pages for posting
individualized meeting information and facilitating online reservations by
attendees.
    The new online service allows planners to request a proposal, make a car
rental reservation for site inspections, download the Avis logo and order free
customized support materials.  Additionally, meeting planners can request the
customized page to provide information about the event to attendees and allow
them to make online reservations that automatically factor in the event's
discounted rate.
    The site is the latest feature of the Avis Meeting & Group Sales program,
which already offers a host of services to meeting planners.  Those planners
who submit their first proposal request using Avis' new online system before
April 30, 2001 will get a free rental day certificate (limit one certificate
per meeting planner).
    "This new site is yet another example of Avis' technology leadership in

on the telephone to handle meeting and group sales, Avis' Web site allows our
meeting planners to seamlessly plan their events online and gives attendees

needs so that we use both technology and our people to achieve the
individualized service and customer loyalty that has become a hallmark of our
Company."  Earlier this week, Avis Rent A Car achieved the highest customer
loyalty among rental car companies by a wide margin, according to the third
annual Brand Keys 2000 Customer Loyalty Awards.  This is the second year in a
row that Avis led the rental car field.

guaranteed one week before to one week after the event, special car rental
rates for conducting meeting site inspections and 7 free rental day
