Vitaminic Teams Up With Renault to Create
MP3-Powered Car
Renault Clio Customized with Vitaminic's Logo, Music and MP3 Player to Debut
in Italian 'Music on the Roa' Advertising Campaign
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 24 Vitaminic, the leading platform for
the promotion and distribution of digital music on the Internet, announced
today that the company and Renault have struck a deal to create the "car of
the future," the Vitaminic Clio. The new Vitaminic Clio will bear the
Vitaminic logo and will be equipped with an MP3 player, providing the "fuel"
drivers need on the road.
The Renault Vitaminic Clio is targeted towards a young and dynamic
demographic, combining the highest safety and comfort standards with a
colorful, powerful design. The new Vitaminic Clio offers drivers a new degree
of freedom and entertainment, driven by an MP3 player instead of a traditional
car radio. A limited number of cars (approximately 14,000 units) will be
produced and sold in Italy
The advertising campaign launched on January 22 and is broadcasting on
Italian television (RAI, PUBBLITALIA, MTV, TELE+ and TMC TV channels). The
spot focuses on the relationship between "fuel for cars and drivers" and
"music on the road," featuring two guys in a Vitaminic Clio who stop at a MP3
music machine in order to reload their car's MP3 player before continuing on
their journey. The spot closes with, "Vitaminic Renault Clio 1.2 16V with MP3
player -- because people need fuel too."
"Renault's objective is to offer a value added service to its younger
customers who are looking for a cool and exciting new car, loaded with
innovative technologies," said Alessandro de Angelini, marketing manager,
Renault. "This represents a new frontier for listening to digital music on the
road (without physical support), offering audio quality similar that of a CD.
Vitaminic was an obvious choice for Renault because of their ability to target
a younger group of consumers and their recognizable brand in the European
market."
"We are delighted that a leading company like Renault chose Vitaminic,"
said Andrea Rosi, Vitaminic's chief operating officer. "This agreement once
again confirms our company's ability to develop new initiatives even outside
of the hi-tech sector."
